Extended Day and Overtime: Middle School

In order to provide a secure and nurturing atmosphere for students’ after-school hours, we ask help from parents/guardians in making sure your child has a daily plan following dismissal. Middle school students should either attend their extracurricular practices or meetings, wait in the carpool line for pick-up, ride the St. George’s bus, or attend our extended day or "Overtime" options. Details, including hours and fees, are in the drop-down areas below.

General Information

The Extended Day and Overtime programs provide a safe environment for St. George's middle school students (grades 6, 7, and 8) who remain on campus after dismissal. Extended Day and Overtime begin on the first full day of classes.

After 3:45 pm. middle school students must check in with the Extended Day or Overtime monitor. Students may not wait in the carpool area after 3:45 pm. Students participating in athletic practices that start after 4:00 pm must sign out to those practices. Students may not leave campus and return to the academic building. Students are responsible for signing in and out of the Extended Day or Overtime.

There will be a time for snacks should you choose to provide one for your student.

Extended Day will be in operation every regular school day (Overtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays) but will not operate on noon dismissal days, school holidays, or days when the school is closed due to inclement weather. Parents will be notified if the school closes early due to hazardous weather conditions.

Following online registration, the St. George’s business office will bill families for any Extended Day or Overtime options. Financial aid toward Extended Day or Overtime fees will apply. All policies and procedures expressed in the Family Handbook apply to Extended Day and Overtime.

Students participating in Overtime who need supervision from 5:30-6:00 pm will return to Extended Day. Students registered for Overtime who need supervision on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays may attend Extended Day at the daily drop-in rate.

AUTHORIZATION TO PICK UP

Only authorized adults designated in the registration process will be allowed to pick up students. Written authorization is required for pick up by someone other than those listed in the registration process.

DISCONTINUATION

Students are expected to adhere to the policies within the Family Handbook. St. George’s reserves the right to dismiss any student from Extended Day or Overtime.

HEALTH

Participants must have an up-to-date immunization form on file at the school. Parents should note any dietary or physical restrictions during registration. If a student becomes ill during Extended Day or Overtime, parents will be notified and asked to pick up their child.

LATE CHARGES

Late charges will be billed for students picked up after 6:00 pm from Extended Day. At 6:05 pm there will be an additional charge of $10 and $2 per minute will accrue after 6:05 pm.
